Theatre Artist. Historian. Clown.FUNNY. Improv, sketch, and clown. Tara trained at Philly Improv Theater, Upright Citizens Brigade, and Second City. She performs her original show Clown Sex Ed whenever she can.
THEATRE ARTIST. Devised and scripted + classical and contemporary. In Philly, Tara worked on five world-premieres with award-winning physical theatre company, Tribe of Fools. Recent Colorado credits include: The Snow Queen (Director), The Importance of Being Earnest (Cecily), Silent Sky (Henrietta Levitt), Small Mouth Sounds (Alicia), and Hamlet (Mask Director). PHD. A big nerd, she has a PhD in Theatre and Performance Studies from the University of Maryland. Her chapter, "Funny then and now? Re-enacting World War II Soldier Sketch Comedy," can be found in Researching Popular Entertainment (2025). DAY JOB. Working 9-5, Tara is the Program Director of Armed Services Arts Partnership, the nation's largest military arts nonprofit. She has produced shows at venues including DC Improv, The Kennedy Center, and The White House. TEACHER.
