Durango Theatre Studio 

Every Monday, 6pm-8pm
The Smiley Building, Room #32 (3rd Floor), 1309 E 3rd Ave, Durango, CO 81301

Arrive 5 minutes early. Each session starts on time at 6pm and latecomers will not be admitted. Wear all-black exercise clothes you can easily move in (no large logos or prints). No shoes permitted in the studio.

  • Open Studio = Dedicated time for performers to learn new techniques and experiment / collaborate with each other. All levels welcome. Whether you've been doing theatre for a while, or just starting out, this studio is for you!
  • Flexible Scheduling = While each week will organically build on skills, you do not need to attend classes sequentially. Come every week or just when your schedule allows. 
  • Many Styles = Training will be primarily movement-based theatre* including ensemble work, clown, mask, improvisation, chorus, character, mime...and more! However, there will also be a rotating line-up of instructors to lead text-based work, including script analysis, scene work, monologues, audition prep, etc. 
*Based in the pedagogy / training from Helikos International School of Theatre Creation under the direction of Giovanni Fusetti. Half-masks by Roberta Bianchini. Larval masks by Beth Twentyman / Melbourne Masks & Theatre.
